Host families represent a vital part of our overall program. Why?
    - They're great practice partners (and teachers!)
    - They're as interested in learning about you as you are about them
    - They offer a fantastic look at Costa Rican culture
We take great care in selecting the host families. They are evaluated by our Housing Coordinator before they begin working with us, and they are evaluated by each student before departure. In addition, our Housing Coordinator interacts with our students every day. If a problem arises, we make the adjustments very quickly - whether this means resolving the issue with the host family or moving the student to a new host family all together.

Our families provide our students with the following:
    - Private room
    - Shared bath (private baths available - first-come, first-served)
    - Study area
    - Breakfast and dinner
    - Laundry once per week
The Housing Coordinator reviews every student registration form, and matches each student with a different family, taking into account personal requirements and preferences such as diet, allergies, children, pets, and smoking.

If a student does not wish to participate in our Host Family Program, on-campus lodging is usually available at our Santa Ana location. Alternatively, Conversa can assist students in procuring other lodging (furnished apartment, bed & breakfast, hotel or hostel) whether participating in the Santa Ana or San Jose location.

In the case of non-Conversa accommodations, a reduction of $110 per week is made.
